Privacy policy
What this website collects, what it does not, who can see it, and how to ask me to delete it. This page is about the website. A patient’s health information is covered by a separate notice.

This is not the notice about a patient’s medical records
There are two privacy documents on this site and they cover different things.
This page covers the website: what happens if you fill in the contact form, what the server that hosts these pages records, and which companies are involved in running it.
The Notice of Privacy Practices covers a patient’s health information: the anesthesia record, the health history taken before the appointment, what is shared with the treating dentist, and the rights the patient has over all of it. That notice is governed by HIPAA and by California’s Confidentiality of Medical Information Act, and it is the one that matters once you, or the person you are writing about, is a patient. It applies the same way to a child and to an adult.
If you write something medical into the contact form, it is covered by both. Please don’t — your name and a short message is enough to start, and we go through the health history properly by phone. But if you do, that information is treated as health information from the moment it reaches me.
Collected
What this website collects, and what for.
Two things: what you send, and what the server records.
What you type into the contact form
Whether you are a parent, a dental office or an Anesthesiologist; your name; your phone number; your email address; and your message. All five fields are required, which is why there is nothing optional to explain here.
What this form is for: getting in touch — asking a question, arranging a call, or starting a conversation about care. It is an administrative contact channel and not a clinical intake form. Please do not send your child’s health history, diagnoses, medications or test results through it. The health history is taken by phone. If clinical information about a child does arrive this way anyway, I remove it from the form service and from my inbox once I have what I need to respond.
What it is used for: responding to your enquiry. If care is established, clinically relevant information from your message may be incorporated into the patient’s record — see how long a message is kept below. It is not used to build a mailing list, it is not used for advertising, and it is not combined with advertising, analytics or tracking data from any other company.
Who handles it: the form is operated by an outside form service. It does more than pass the message on: it stores what you submit until it is deleted, and it records the IP address the message was sent from, an approximate location worked out from that address, and your browser’s description of itself, the page you sent it from and the originating website. It states that it keeps a submission until it is deleted and recoverable for thirty days afterwards, and the address and location data for twelve months. Its servers are in Ireland and Germany, so a message sent through this form is stored outside the United States. The message then reaches my inbox at an email provider, which carries and stores it there.
What the server records when a page loads
The hosting provider that serves these pages may keep a routine log of requests: the IP address the request came from, the page requested, the time, and the browser’s own description of itself.
What it is used for: keeping the site running and secure — delivering the page you asked for, and letting the host detect abuse or an outage. The host also aggregates these logs into counts of visits and page views, which I can see. They are not used to build a profile of you or to identify you, and they are not connected to anything you submit.
Not collected
What this website deliberately does not do.
This list is longer than the one above, and that is the point. Each item is a decision, not an oversight.
No analytics in your browser
Nothing on this site measures you. There is no Google Analytics, no advertising analytics, no tracking pixel, no session replay or heatmap, and no client-side traffic script of any kind. No code on this page reports your behaviour to anyone.
What I do have is what any website host provides from its own records: counts of requests, page views and unique visitors, worked out at the server from the routine log described above. It tells me that a page was read. It does not tell me who read it, and it is not joined to anything you submit.
No advertising or social media pixels
No Meta pixel, no Google Ads tag, no LinkedIn or TikTok tag, no conversion tracking of any kind. Visiting a page about anesthesia for children does not cause you to be advertised to anywhere else.
No session recording
Nothing on this site records your mouse movements, your scrolling, your keystrokes, or what you typed into a form field and then deleted.
No chat widget, and no AI chatbot
There is no live chat box and no automated assistant. If you want to reach me you use the form, the email address or the phone number, and a person reads it.
No cookies set by this site
This website sets no cookies of its own. It does not need to: there is nothing to log in to, nothing in a basket, and no preference worth storing.
No fonts or files loaded from other companies
The typefaces, the stylesheet, the images and the small amount of code this site uses are all served from the same place as the pages themselves. No other outside services are contacted to load fonts, images, scripts or stylesheets. The company hosting these pages necessarily receives the request, and is described below.
Nothing is sold, and nothing is shared for advertising
I do not sell personal information, I do not trade it, and I do not share it with anyone for their own marketing. The companies that handle it on my behalf in order to run the site are described in the kinds of companies involved below.
Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
California law requires a website to say how it responds to a browser’s Do Not Track signal, and to say whether anyone else may watch you across other websites over time.
Nothing on this site tracks you, with or without a signal. There is nothing here that follows a visitor from page to page, nothing that follows a visitor to another website, and no other company is given access to track your browsing activity through this site over time or across other websites. A Do Not Track header or a Global Privacy Control signal therefore changes nothing about how this site behaves — not because it is ignored, but because there is no tracking for it to switch off.
The kinds of companies involved, and what each one sees
Three categories of service provider are involved in operating this website. They are described by what they do rather than by name, so that this page stays accurate if one of them is replaced.
A web hosting provider stores these pages and delivers them to your browser. It sees the routine request log described above.
A form service receives what you type into the contact form, stores it until it is deleted, and passes it to me. It sees everything in that form, together with the IP address, approximate location and browser details described above. It holds that data on servers in Ireland and Germany.
An email provider carries and stores the message once it reaches my inbox.
Each is engaged to provide that service to me, under terms that limit what they may do with the information. Some of them use their own subprocessors to deliver their service.
Children
Most of the care described here is for children, but the site is written for the adults who arrange it — parents, guardians, caregivers and dental offices — and for adult patients themselves. It is not directed to children, and I do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has sent information through this site, write to me and I will delete it.
Your choices
Seeing it, changing it, deleting it.
How long a message is kept
A message that does not lead to care is kept only as long as it is useful to answer it, and is then deleted from the places I control. A message about someone who becomes a patient may become part of that patient’s record — it does so only if it contains something that belongs there. Where it does, the Notice of Privacy Practices governs it from that point, including how long it must be kept, which is set by law and is longer than I would otherwise keep an email.
Asking what I hold, or asking me to delete it
Write to me at info@bhkidsanesthesia.com or through the contact page and ask. I will tell you what I have from the website, correct it if it is wrong, and delete it. I will respond as required by applicable law.
To be accurate about what that means: I will delete the information I control when it is appropriate to do so, subject to legal, security, backup and service-provider retention requirements. A copy can persist for a time in a provider’s own backups or logs after I have deleted mine, and some records have to be kept for a period set by law. I will tell you if that is the case for anything you ask about.
If you or your child is a patient, the rights over that health information are broader than this, and they are set out in the Notice of Privacy Practices.
California privacy rights
California law may provide additional privacy rights depending on the information involved and the law that applies. Regardless, you may ask what website information I control and request correction or deletion as described above.
Security
This site may be served over an encrypted connection, and messages sent through the form may travel over one.
It does not make email confidential. Email and web forms can be intercepted or misdirected, and neither is a secure channel for medical information. That is why the form asks for a short note rather than a health history, and why the history itself is taken by phone.
Changes to this policy
If this changes — if analytics is ever added, or a different form service used — this page is updated at the same time, and the effective date at the top changes with it. The current version is always the one posted here. There is no mailing list to notify, because there is no mailing list.
Questions about this page
Email info@bhkidsanesthesia.com or write through the contact page. Please put questions about this website, these terms or practice policy in writing rather than calling — the phone number is for anesthesia care.
