No physician–patient relationship

Reading this website, sending a message through a form on it, or calling the number listed on it does not create a physician–patient relationship between you and Anoosh Javaherian, MD, or any Anesthesiologist working with this practice. That relationship begins only when care is formally accepted, after a health history has been reviewed and the arrangements for a specific appointment have been made.

No anesthetic plan without an evaluation

Whether anesthesia is appropriate for a particular patient, and what form it should take, is decided after a health history review and, where needed, records from or a conversation with that patient’s physician. It is not decided from a web page.

Nothing on this site is a pre-anesthetic assessment. No physical status classification, airway assessment, medication plan or fasting instruction can be inferred from it. The fasting schedule on this website is general educational guidance. The instructions given for the patient’s individual appointment take precedence if they differ.

Descriptions of anesthesia on this site are general and are not a complete account of what is involved. They are not, and do not replace, the informed consent discussion that happens before treatment.

Emergencies

If you are experiencing a medical or dental emergency, call 911 or go to your nearest emergency room. Do not use this website, its contact forms or its phone number to seek urgent help. Messages sent through this site are not monitored continuously and there is no guarantee that any message will be read within any particular period.

Photographs and models

No photograph of a patient appears on this website. The portraits of Anoosh Javaherian, MD are of him. Every other image of a child or an adult appearing on this site is a licensed stock photograph: the people shown are not patients of this practice and are not affiliated with it. Those photographs are used for illustrative and decorative purposes only, and no person shown in them endorses this practice or any service it provides.

This practice does not currently publish photographs of its own patients, and does not publish “before” and “after” images. If it ever does, those images will identify the procedures performed, will be presented comparably so that the results are not distorted by pose, lighting or other features of presentation, and will carry a statement that the same “before” and “after” results may not occur for all patients.

Licensure and where care is provided

Anoosh Javaherian, MD, is licensed as a Physician and Surgeon by the Medical Board of California and holds a General Anesthesia Permit with Pediatric Endorsement from the Dental Board of California.

Anesthesia services described on this website are provided in California, at dental offices and facilities with which this practice has an arrangement, and within the service areas listed on this site. Nothing on this website is an offer to provide care anywhere else.

An independent anesthesia practice

This is an independent anesthesia practice. The Anesthesiologists are not employees or agents of the dental office. The dentist is responsible for dental treatment, and the Anesthesiologist is responsible for anesthesia care. Each clinician maintains separate professional liability coverage, and neither is responsible for the acts or omissions of the other.

No guarantee of results

No outcome is promised or guaranteed. Every patient is different, and how any particular patient responds to anesthesia, how treatment proceeds and how recovery goes will vary. Descriptions on this site of what typically happens are exactly that — typical, not certain.

This website is provided as it is. Reasonable care is taken to keep it accurate and current, but no warranty of any kind is given about its content — including that it is complete, correct, up to date, or suited to any particular purpose. Medical and dental practice changes, and information published here may become out of date.
